Do my husband and I also have shingles because of herpes?

K since my husband and myself have been told we have H (HSV 1 & 2), is it possible to also get the shingles rash after a herpes outbreak?

Shingles is the Herpes Zoster virus which causes chicken pox. If you had chicken pox then you *may* get shingles because it is the same thing...it's just that it comes out differently as an adult (if you never got it you would actually get chicken pox FIRST which is really miserable as an adult).

 

Either way, HSV1 and 2 won't make you more susceptible to Shingles - BUT - stress can make you more likely to break out with any of the three.....
