Every outbreak different than the last?

Recommended Posts

Is this normal?

I'm on outbreak number three. First was five blisters, completely healed and gone within 10-12 days. Second was a single blister, SUPER mild, here and gone in two days. Now I've got what seems to be another single blister, but it's HUGE compared with how the others were and in a different spot. And definitely more resilient than the last one. I thought severity would continue to decrease with subsequent outbreaks? Is it possible this is something else entirely? I also have nerve pain again this time around, which I didn't with number two.

There are a lot of things that can affect OB's. *Generally* they will get less severe over time, but if your stress/immune system gets out of whack, well, the virus will let you know it. That, and you are still building your immunity.

Try all the options we have here to help your body to deal with it - I personally find that if I do a "belt and braces" approach (I take the anti-virals when I first get the prodromes, and attack it from the outside with Alum, going commando, and not doing anything to irritate the area) to help my body. As soon as it starts to dry up, I let my body take over. It works for *me* - you may find something different that works for YOU ;)
