Confirmed 7 days ago & told the person who gave it to me

Hi. I just found out from my doctor a week ago I have HSV2. I finally build up enough courage to tell the person who gave it to me. I've only been with 2 men in the past 4 years. When my boyfriend of 4yrs broke up with me, I rebounded and called up an old friend. We had unprotected sex and then I felt sick and icky down there within a few days. Went to the doctor who said yes I have it and even took a culture sample to confirm it. I told my ex immediately to get tested and he did--came out negative 3 days later.

 

Anyway, I called my old friend today and told him he gave it to me. He was really shocked and surprised...and then angry. He said he's been with only one other woman in the past year and said he's going to find her and then kill her. I told him please don't and tried to explain that some people do not know they have it because they don't have any symptoms.

 

Is there anything else I should have told him? I really don't want him to go out there and hurt someone.

I would send him the links to Adrials handouts and ebook and tell him he needs to get educated about the virus ... and send him here. We can help him to understand that H is a slippery devil and that 80% of those with it don't know they have it.
