viral blood test

Recommended Posts

Well that test sounds like a great idea... I just wonder if it will tell that you were "exposed" (we've ALL been exposed to Herpes in our lives... likely MANY times...it doesn't mean it will overwhelm the immune system to where it manages to become established) or if you actually carry it ... and if it's just "exposed" they will need to train Dr's to help people to understand that they need to do follow up testing to find out if the virus has actually managed to become established or if it was just a small "dose" that the body managed to overcome.

As for your other article, yes, Herpatic Whitlow is another issue AND it's pretty rare. It's more common in children because they get cold sores on their mouths and they suck their fingers and so they get exposed to a LOT of the virus. Or people who have cracked fingers/hangnails etc.... but if you read the article, alot of the "whitlow" cases are bacterial ....

So try not to stress about it. Again, risk is VERY low and there are far worse things to worry about in life... just be aware to not play (personally or someone else) when you have an OB or when your/their fingers have sores/cracks/cuts/hangnails/etc ...
