How Long After An OB Before I Can Have Sex

Hi there! I found out about a month ago that I have GHSV-1 (given to me orally from the guy that I've been seeing for a few months--he was an absolute gem when I told him and was so supportive). I had an OB, and went on Valtrex, and waited two weeks after taking it to be sure. While I never really had sores, I did have what looked like razor burn on my pubic area (where I shave), and even now, a few weeks later, there are still pink spots on my skin showing where they were, even though the bumps themselves scabbed over and disappeared. 

 

My partner wasn't bothered by these, so we had sex. But I wanted to know how long you wait after an OB to have sex? Does anyone else get marks that linger?

If your partner is also positive, then there is no reason to not have sex, as long as you are not in any discomfort.
