you're a sweet soul, thank you.

i hope you and many others are right,  i just dont know what is wrong me, if anything... Never had the "Classic symptoms" or blisters, however i feel like somethings not right,  I feel like i'm not that same person anymore. I look in the mirror & dont even recognize my own face 😞

Thanks again for your kind words.

Hey hun, the reality is not nearly as bad as the fear. When I was 18 I was sure I had caught herpes, went to like 4 drs to get tested and was negative every time. Fast forward 5 years and I end up catching it lol. You know what, I felt bad that I wasted so much time being paranoid about it before. It's so common, and a pain in the arse (literally) but I chose to just live my life. Believe me, I'm not miss positivity and I take medication for anxiety. I'm just not going to let herpes worry me anymore.

  2. @tiredandlonely thanks for your reply. I usually get pms but this was on another level. I thought about it later and I also got a flu shot last week and I had to take care of 3 sick animals at home as well as my 2 jobs so maybe I just over taxed my body. Am thinking about going to Dr this time. I haven't done so before, but I'm wondering if I'm enduring pain for no reason lol!

  3. I use a cup and I also bought some reusable pads for at night. They are really soft and comfy on your bits. If your grossed out by cleaning them I just chuck them in the shower when I warm the shower up 🙂

  4. Heya beautiful people, I've had herpes (don't know what type) for 15 years. I have been symptom free until the last 6 months. I have now had 2 outbreaks in the last 6 months, both have started just before my period and I have felt particularly pms'y so I'm guessing hormones are playing a part. Has anyone else experienced this? It's strange because I have had a really bad illness about 2 years ago which weakened my immune system, but I never had an outbreak during or immediately subsequent to that so I'm confused as to why I'm getting outbreaks when I'm probably the healthiest I've ever been...

  5. I don't take suppressives or alter my diet. I'm just lucky I think.

I already led a generally healthy lifestyle, and make sure I keep my stress down and get lots of rest.

It is one of the difficult things, not knowing what's coming. I've just recently had that outbreak and had no idea what was going on for the first week. I did have the nerve pain but I also get sciatica so I was a bit confused lol.

I have educated myself quite well on herpes so I know the ins and outs pretty well.

Also, just remember, you can't control when you're going to catch a cold, and you can't walk around worrying about that all the time so try not to worry too much about this either (I know, easier said than done I guess) xx.

  6. Heya,

That's nerve pain! The virus gets nice and comfy in the base of your spine where the nerves for your lower back and legs etc are.

My first year I had no sores but nerve pain in my back, buttocks, thighs and outside edges of my feet.

I've since only had one outbreak and that has lasted 4 weeks. You're right though we're all different.

    I'm 11 years in.

Frankly, I also have to question your motivation here. You are coming to a forum where people, many of whom are newly diagnosed, come to seek solace and a new understanding about the traumatic diagnosis they have received. What is it that you are offering them?

    I completely agree

  8. I caught mononucleosis last year. I'm sure with your medical background you know that this is a herpes virus. This disease caused neurological issues for about 9 months afterwards.

My brother had a rare outbreak from chicken pox, another herpes virus (20 years after he had it) that resulted in encephalitis and permanent facial paralysis.

Yes, bad things can happen to healthy people. Yes, herpes-all strains of it, are still somewhat a mystery to the medical community. Why point the finger at HSV1 and HSV2? Why continue the stigma when ALL herpes viruses can cause these problems? Why make people feel worse and more fearful about something that they cannot change?

I had a friend who worked with genes, particularly faulty genes that caused fatal diseases. A lot of people who were at high risk for developing incurable, unpreventable, fatal diseases elected not to find out if they had the gene that would cause these diseases. Their reason, they wanted to live their best life without fear.

Even the most harmless seeming diseases can have devastating results, but I for one am not going to stop living my life to avoid them.

You can still have sex and fall in love and have babies. All that. Like, 20% of women have this. You think they all go live under a porch or something?

Hehe that's what I was thinking. And if the person is ok with it, get on board!
