  1. Hi everyone it has been a long time since I posted on here. Tonight I'm very concerned about my 11 year old daughter. When I had my initial outbreak she was 5. One night she crawled into bed with me and sometime during the night she lodged her foot in between my legs almost in my private area! At that time I was having irritated skin, probably an outbreak at the hat time. Over the last few years she occasionally gets a spot that is sore between her but cheeks, very small but painful. I'm so afraid I passed this to her, any thoughts?
  2. I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience with the Fc2. I have had great success with it but I wish I could give some good advice on how to make it work. I have had no pain and it doesn't twist. My boyfriend cannot function sexually using a condom (a function of age...ugh) so luckily the fc2 has worked really well.
  3. Thank you for the encouragement I really appreciate it. I called the nurse practitioner that our family sees, she is also a friend of mine and is familiar with my struggle with H. I explained my concerns with her and she was certain that my daughter did not have H and said that she would not do a blood test because it would be "over kill". Also another issue here is that if the worst case scenario was true I would be reported to child protection as this is an STD which would result in me definitely losing my mind as well as my job ( I am a social worker) and all kinds of other awful things. I simply cannot take this stress and want to crawl out of my skin.
  4. Ok so I'm freaking out. My daughter, who is 9, has gotten some very small painful bumps on her butt. Today she said she had a very painful spot in between her butt cheeks. I looked at it and it was a few very very small bumps in a cluster, I can't tell if they were blisters. She said that when she pees and it drips back on her butt it stings bad. She has slept with me a lot when I was first diagnosed and I always tried to where pj pants but a few times I didn't and she crawled into bed with me and one time lodged her foot in between my legs close to my private area, this happened about four years ago. I am so scared I could not cope with the my child getting this from me, I don't know what to do with this anxiety.
  5. Thanks Dancer, i made an appointment for next monday. I am extra concerned about this because i am in a new relationship. He knows my status but we havent been intimate yet and i want to keep him safe but it is hard when you have chronic discomfort but none of the typical signs, we know how sneaky this is and it has been said before how it is different for everyone
  6. I also want to add that i have was diagnosed four years ago and likely contracted it two years prior to my diagnosis, i would think i would have enough antibodies to keep any ob short but this has been going on a ling time. I went to planned parenthood and they said the redness did not look like herpes but i just dont trust because from what i have read herpes can look like anything
  7. I havent posted on here for awhile but i read what everyone else has been posting daily. I am grateful for this site it has been a comfort. I again have been experiencing discomfort vaginally and also in my rectum for a at least three weeks. The skin is red in the area between the labia. Not much to be seen near my rectum but it is always uncomfotable. I have been taking 500 mg of acyclovir daily for several months. With all that said i have vaginal atrophy due to menopause so i am unsure if my issues are herpes related or menopause related. I also have a history of having a fisure...ugh. I just want to feel normal down there. I have no sores or bumps. Any input would be appreciated.
  8. I am grateful for all four of my beautiful children. They love me unconditionally which is the most joyful feeling, even more since this diagnosis.
  9. Wow...my tears are flowing, thanks for sharing this experience, it helps all of us.
  10. So my nose keeps tinglng, my head and face itch. I have had a blood test, I am hsv2 positive and hsv1 negative. Can hsv2 prodomes include these kinds of symptoms? Thanks for any input
  11. Thanks for the words of encouragement :). I did have a blood test and am positive for hsv2 and that was three years ago. It is a long story but initially I had horrible irritation but they maintained I was not having an outbreak, when they did a blood test it indicated that it was not a current outbreak but I really do not believe that. Anyway I have been having a lot of prodome (sp?) symptoms and irritation which was swabbed and came back negative. I thought that the acyclovir and B12 would trump my very stressed mind, it must not work that way.
  12. Since Christmas day I have been having issues with what I think is herpes presenting itself. I went to the doctor and they swabbed the reddened areas but it came be negative for herpes. I have had a lot of tingling and nerve pain as well. The nerve pain has subsided but the tingling sensations continue. When I was at the dr. I requested a prescription of acyclovir to take daily just in case these symptoms were herpes related and because I have started dating someone so I thought it would be a good idea anyway. The dr did say that I have vaginal atrophy (from menopause) which can cause all kinds of discomfort BUT I don't think it creates tingling. So I have been taking the Acyclovir for almost two weeks and have been taking B12 for about a week and now tonight I think I am getting a very small bump on my labia and it is a little uncomfortable. I have been under a lot of stress as I am starting a new job and I am really stressed about telling this new guy in my life about h but I thought the Acyclovir would have helped! I am in tears and just wanting to give up.
  13. Dancer, thank you for posting that thread. I would certainly rather have herpes than cancer as well but it is shocking when I hear someone else say that they would rather have cancer, it makes me feel even worse about having herpes than I already do.
  14. Thanks Herry, good information. Interesting though that the medical field developed a shingles vaccine and not a vaccine for hsv2 and 1
  15. I was driving past Walgreen's yesterday and they had a sign out for getting a shingles vaccine shot. I thought to myself well if they have a vaccine shot for shingles than why can't they have a vaccine shot for other herpes strains? Anyone know why this is?
