I'm scared

So today I went to planned parenthood to see what was wrong with me , thinking nothing of it , turns out they diagnosed me with hvs2 , I cried so hard , I know it's not bad but knowing ill have it for the rest of my life , it's scary..I'm a 19 yr old teenage girl , I shouldn't have herpes.. I thought I was healthy as can be ..I am dating someone , but I took his virginity and I've slept with guys before him but that was a long time ago , and plus I would of seen the symptoms way earlier , the doctor said I may of gotten it orally , I'm just so scared , it makes me feel dirty , I don't sleep around...I'm just confused and scared

I'm sorry you feel scared. I hear you. I was scared when I first found out I had herpes, too. But you know what the secret is to realizing it's not as big a deal as you may be seeing it as?

 

Educating yourself about it. Educating your future partners about it. Reading as much of the herpeslife.com blog as possible. Reading the "general inspiration" category on these forums. Continuing to post your feelings to these forums and get support to realize this is just something you have and it's not the end of the world. I promise you. It very well could be the beginning of a new path for you.
