ORAL HSV 2

I had my first Oral HSV 2 outbreak about 4 weeks ago now. My doctor treated me with 5 days of Valtrex. My throat seems to be completely cleared up now as I have a flashlight down there regularly, expect in the areas I had the outbreak now look like flesh colored marks, Does this mean that my throat is still healing and will eventually clear up all together? I remember reading online somewhere that it can take anywhere from 2-7 weeks to heal as the throat is a constant moist area. I am hopeful and optimistic that I won't be seeing another outbreak but I just want to make sure that I am completely healed if and anytime I do. My nerves and anxiety have been getting the best of me lately so maybe that could be contributing towards my slow healing process? I dunno! I do appreciate any of your feedback because I know there are not many people familiar with Oral HSV 2 and there really isn't all that much information about it online either. All I have basically read is that it is VERY uncommon and if you have a strong immune system (like myself) shouldn't be much of an issue in my life. (Fingers crossed).

Just like any wound, an outbreak may take some time to completely heal and "look" normal. And yes, the throat may take longer to heal because of the environment - you can try salt water gargles a couple times a day to help kill off any bacteria that may confine to irritate the area.
