suppressive therapies

Hey I haven't done much research on any suppressive herpes meds... nor did I think I would want to go on any. (I kind of want to ride out at least my first 6 months without anything and see how it goes...) But I have been reading in the discussions on this website and in articles here and there, that it greatly reduces the chances of spreading... any info, good websites, or meds anyone can tell me about?

Thanks

I do take something called OPC-3 by Isotonix which is a super highly effective way of taking vitamins.. and OPC-3 is an antioxidant that I was recommended to go on prior to my positive herpes results.. however I've been told it can help (and started taking it after the fact).... I am not surprised because I was on the Isotonix brand for other vitamin/mineral problems that have long since disappeared... here's the website if anyone is interested in looking at what they offer and how the vitamin works (for not only this but many other health related issues)

I don't know about natural methods, never took the time to research them. I'd be curious too as to how they work with viral shedding.

I take acyclovir 400mg 2x daily. I have a healthy baby who was born vaginally, an ex who is negative even tho we hardly used condoms. And I have had maybe 1 outbreak per year. I've almost had it 4 years now. So I would say acyclovir probably does a great job with the viral shedding, but I can't give you facts and numbers about it!!!
