Herpes Pimples and Steroid Cream

Hi all.

 

WonderingWondering if these bump like pimples on my legs are herpes or not. They itch before they come but they don't blister or have any fluid. Doctor said they were foliculitis. Never had that before at all. Anyway, she perscribed steroid cream with an antibiotic in it. So just a question to throw out there? If it is a herpes pimple, will this cream still work? She refused to swab it so I just wondered how would I know?

If it's herpes it will make it worse... steroids LOWER the immunity because they are stopping your body from over-reacting to the irritant ... you never use steroids for H ;)

 

I HIGHLY doubt it's Herpes ... so I'd go with the Dr's diagnosis ... certainly if the cream works, you know it wasn't H ;)

Sorry I think u meant this but just to clarify, would a steroid cream relieve the herpes itch of the skin....even for a short period of time?

No - if anything it would get worse.... because it would stop your body from fighting the virus ....it might feel better initially... for a very short time, but it's very likely the OB would get worse soon after.

Ok I will have to wait and see I guess....seems to have stopped the itching

 

Will see if the bumps go away

 

Just seems weird.
