I think I have a wrong diagnosis

First - Hello and Welcome!

So - we need a bit more info...

What had you get tested? Symptoms? Recent exposure to someone who told you their status? Just a regular STD test? Were the nurses in an OBGYN office or are they in a GP/ clinic situation?

Those numbers certainly seem low .... more details might help us to give you an opinion of what's going on and what you might want to do next ;)

Ah - so you have HSV1 - but that doesn't mean you have GENITAL herpes ...odds are you have oral herpes (ie, Cold Sores)...

First, I STRONGLY suggest that you go to an OBGYN for irregular bleeding ... never mind the Herpes "diagnosis". A family Dr is not a specialist in womens health - Just as when you may take your car to Oil-R-Us for an oil change but not when you hear a strange knocking (when you would take it to the dealer), so you should also go to the specialist for anything outside of general, simple illnesses and issues. Hate to say it, but GP's are HORRIDLY out of touch about what Herpes IS and the latest info :(

I can't diagnose, but I'm betting the OBGYN will tell you that while it's *possible* that you have genital HV1 (and if you do, you *could* have got it from your hubby) odds are it's oral and given that you are in a Long Term monogamous relationship, it shouldn't be an issue if it hasn't caused anything before now (except to make you aware that if you suddenly get a sore on your lip, you don't want to give your hubby Oral sex ;) then it shouldn't become an issue now ...

Let us know what they say ;)

I wear a retainer once a week or so, almost always it irritates my mouth causing a sore. Also, sometimes I'm a little too fast while flossing and slice the corner of my mouth...that also causes a cold sore. The dr called today to apologize, I'm still anxious, but I'll get over it.Thanks again.
