Hydrocodone during a herpes outbreak?

Recommended Posts

So I just got diagnosed yesterday. I have Interstitial Cytitus which is painful bladder syndrome. I normally urinate 25 times a day well because of the outbreak and EXTREME pain I've been lucky to go 1 time a day. I take hydrocodone for my IC but has anyone had any luck with it helping with pain from an outbreak. The DR also prescribed me Ketoprofen?

Pain killers do help some people - but you need to try to urinate more so you don't end up with something worse along with the OB.

Try peeing in the shower or pour water over the area when you are peeing... and check out my tips on how to get the OB under control faster by attacking it externally. In addition for you I would suggest Cranberry extract to help to keep any bladder infections at bay given that you are not urinating much.

What kind of Dr are you seeing? (Sorry if you have answered this elsewhere ... I lose track of people sometimes ;) ).... If it's a GP/PCP then you need to get to an OBGYN .... hate to say it but GP's are often behind on these things and you want someone who is a "specialist" in this kind of thing...exp with your complication of the IC..

When I had my first outbreak I had a cup with me at all times to fill with water. When I'd go to the restroom at work I'd pour it while I urinate helped ease the discomfort. To help dry out the sores after showering I'd mix baking soda and water to make a paste. I'd apply it on the sores with Q-tips and lay with the fan blowing. It burns like crazy but helped the process move along faster.
