Please help! What can I do to help the itching from herpes?

I was diagnosed with herpes yesterday. I've had it for 5 days now. The Dr put me on Valtrex 1gm twice daily. What can I do about the itching? It really is unbearable! I've tried Vagisil and I've tried Destin cream. Neither have worked. I can deal with the pain and stinging. The itching is what brings me to my knees. I can't sleep, I haven't been able to return to work. The blisters have popped, they're bleeding, and hopefully will start scabbing over very soon!!! Do you have any suggestions? I know the very first outbreak is the worst!

Sorry it's been a (literal) pain for you! Yes, itching is a common thing. And yes, the first herpes outbreak is always the worst. So if you can make it through this, you'll make it through the rest like a breeze ... :)

I rinse several times a day with baking soda dissolved in water. Then follow it with coconut oil with a tiny bit of tea tree oil. This seems to be the combo that works best for me but everybody is different. Good luck!
