are cold sores / oral herpes bad thing ?

Recommended Posts

Simple answer. Yup. :)

Remember ... 80% of people have HSV1 orally ... 60% of kids get it by the time they are young adults. I got it around the age of 4 (have plenty of photos of me with big ol' outbreaks on my chin).

The only thing it changes is how you approach Oral Sex. The general though is that one doesn't need to disclose before kissing (because everyone has been exposed to it many times in their life already unwittingly ... because 80% of people with it don't know they have it) . However, it's best to disclose before oral sex ... because 50% of all new genital cases are H1 from oral sex.... basically because so few know they carry it and people get careless.

The fact is that once you know your status, you know to be cautious. No oral play if you have a sore on your lip, or a papercut thye sore, etc. No oral play if your partner has any knicks or rubs down there. Best if your partner shaves 24-48 hrs before play simply so any micro-cuts can heal. Beyond that, you just play smart. I've been with 3 main LTerm partners (20 yr marriage, and 2 tree year relationships) and never passed it on to any of them. My ex hubby got H2 from me, after 2 yrs together and lots of sex... because I didn't know that my "rash" was herpes..... and we played a lot when I was "irritated" down there ...

Remember,,, CHILDREN get oral herpes ... so why would it be disgusting ???
