Is there herpes virus in saliva ?

Recommended Posts

Well, it's not PRODUCED in the salivary glands... but if you have an OB inside the mouth (FYI, most sores inside the mouth are not Herpes, but are canker sores... but a *small* number of people manage to get herpes in the mouth or throat) then the virus could be CARRIED by the saliva. Kids pass it to each other by sharing drinks an utensils but that's normally because they are having active OB's and the receiver's immune system is still developing and thus won't fight it off as well.....

Also, if you have HSV1 genitally, then it only will shed in the genital region. ;)
