can cold sore look like a cut ?

I got a small cut on my lip starting yesterday. It started at work and it was bleeding for no reason . there is no yellow fluid or anything like that. can cold sore bleed before it happens? I just want to know just in-case if it is herpes

Yes, herpes outbreaks can look like papercuts/fissures/slits! And only way to know for sure if it's herpes is to get it swabbed, but treat it like it is an outbreak until you know for sure.
