Valacyclovir question

Recommended Posts

So, I've been taking 500mg every morning for suppression therapy for a week or so, and I feel SO dehydrated. Is this a side effect anyone else has encountered? My eyes are dry, my lips are dry, my body feels like the moisture has been sucked right out of it. It didn't show up on the list of common side effects, but it's pretty bad! I feel like a sucked orange.

I can't say I have that from valtrex, but I have that feeling due to having Sjogrens. Have you tried taking at night before bed? I found that I didn't feel as tired if I took it at night vs the day time and I don't really feel the aide effects. I had some when I first started, but the longer in it, the less I felt them. Hang in there.

I felt awful taking valtrex in the morning too. Basically all the same symptoms and was feeling run down and getting headaches. If I need to take it, I take it before bed like 2Legit suggested. I don't get the same side effects when I do. The only thing I do notice is that I am very tired the next day if I don't take it early enough before bed. Usually goes away by the time I get my day started but getting up and out of bed is not fun haha. I'd try it before bed and see if that helps. I keep a bottle of water next to my bed too which helps. Make sure you drink plenty of water while you are on it. That's suppose to help too.
