HSV1 progression

Recommended Posts

So I received what I believed to be HSV2 and HSV1 from a previous relationship. I have had G and O outbreaks. My outbreaks have been directly related to hormonal changes more importantly coinciding with the same time every month. I went on birth control and the Outbreaks stopped except for when I took the placebo pills. Now I am severely struggling with Oral outbreaks. Abreeva used to work and there would be no problem but now while the outbreaks are not as severe as they used to be I have noticed I now have small ( very small) fluid filled blisters around my mouth. These blisters are not noticeable unless I am in a well lit area and up very close to the mirror. My outbreaks have always been on my lips and inside my mouth. These blisters are all around my mouth and as far up as to my nose. Im concerned that my next outbreak will cover this entire area. Im very confused because I have been positive for going on three years now and this is new (3 months). Im not sure what or why this is happening. Anyone have any similar experiences or any idea?

I have been skipping the placebos and it helps not have a full blown outbreak, however the small blisters appeared. I know this sounds ridiculous but I am an RN and I'm almost 99 % sure its herpes related. the blisters look almost as if it would be a blister before an outbreak only they don't grown in size. I was wondering if this could be the virus lying doormant. I began taking valtrex about a week ago.

If you have symptoms, the virus is not dormant, it is active. Poor warm water into a bowl w Epsom salt and soak a Wash cloth in it, to lay on your mouth and do that several times a night until it clears. I also found bactine drys things up super fast. My dog gets these raahws on his underbelly, that can get out of control from allergies and him scratching and become painful, and he tears his skin up; so my vet prescribed steroid spray. It didn't do a whole lot, until like a week or more later. Now I use bactine instead and it dries it up by the next day and I don't need to spray it every day like I did w steroid spray. Says a lot about bactin if you ask me. So you can aoray that too on your mouth. I also prefer Campho-Phenique Cold Sore Treatment Original Gel, over abreva and much cheaper. I felt it worked really well. Valtex cna take about two weeks to build up in your system, so be patient. How long have you been infected?

Sun can cause OB's - and stress - and even irritation from certain foods.

I suggest you keep a journal of what you are eating, activities, stressors, etc ... see if you can see a pattern for what makes it worse. I often say that Herpes is like a "first responder" to the health of your body ... although in the first few months, it's often just that your body needs time to figure out how to get it under control.

Second - attack it from the outside ... I'm going to put a bunch of links but generally Epsom Salts baths (drop a double handful of the salts between your legs so its concentrated there), followed by thorough drying (even using a hair drier to get it really dry), maybe going commando, and using Bactine (which helps to kill the virus AND numb it thanks to the lidocaine in it) ... or my favorite, Ammonium Alum ... but there's LOTS of suggestions in the links. I find if you attack it from the outside, the inside can do it's job better :)
