Issues if you miss Valtrex doses for a few days?

Hi all! I'm debating on whether to pick up my script or wait until Monday when I get paid. Lots of unexpected vehicle expenses came up this week, so money is tight. If I miss 3 days, is it going to take a week or so to build back up in my system? I'm in a relationship, so I don't want to endanger him. I can hold off on any sexual contact for the next few days.

I dont know if this is right, we should ask a doctor, but when i miss a day for whatever reason I take 2 the next day. That is what was recommended to me by my doctor when I was taking daily birth control pills so I assumed this would also apply to antivirals. Good question!

I skipped it for a few days and ended up with a prodrome. :( At least it wasn't a full on OB.

Yes, you're actually exactly right! In our call with Terri Warren she said if you miss a day, you'll double up the next and then if you miss multiple, it'll take about a week to build back up in your system.
