taking valtrex everyday

Hi everyone, 

I have type 1 herpes on my genitals. I have only had my initial outbreak but I was wondering should I be taking valtrex everyday for outbreaks even if I haven't had an outbreak since my initial outbreak

Its a choice if you want to take daily virals. I personally only take them when I have an OB. Too much valtrex lowers your immunity, so if you do decide to take daily virals be sure to take a multivitamin, vitamin c and lysine. Make sure you're drinking enough water as well

Do you take them before you have sex to lower transmission rate?

I take them daily. If i do have sex. I make sure it’s protected. Female and male condoms help. It takes away some sensation but it’s a lower risk of passing the infection. Just don’t have sex while having an OB
