How likely am I to transmit?

Recommended Posts

The numbers that need answers please is giving you are not based on per sexual encounters. They are based on the average rate of transmission over  FULL YEAR of regular intercourse.

The transmission rates are different based on gender. Positive male to transmit to a female goes like this:

10% chance per year without condoms or antivirals BUT avoiding sex during out breaks.

5% chance with one of either condoms OR antivirals.

2.5% chance with BOTH condoms AND antivirals.

Positive female to male ratios go like this:

4% chance per year without condoms or antivirals BUT avoiding sex during out breaks.

2% chance with one of either condoms OR antivirals.

1% chance with BOTH condoms AND antivirals.

Hope that helps.
