Risk reduction statistics for herpes: effectiveness of condom use?

Recommended Posts

Living does imply risk - but it's the choice of what risks we should take that matters. I could cross the street without looking both ways, but it's not a big deal to look. If there was an easy way to reduce risk without giving up much to get there, I think a lot of people would think about it. I wouldn't consider a man wearing boxers to be significantly altering to intimacy any more than wearing a condom changes things . . . I don't think I'd be down with a latex suit though, just because I imagine it would be hard to change into (I'm a surfer and I spend enough time wrestling with wetsuits, so no thank you on any full-body latex apparel)

Haha I surf too and know the struggle of getting into a wetsuit..I wouldn't go for a latex suit either!

I've read good things about the FC2...we can't get it in New Zealand as it hasn't been approved by our equivalent of the FDA. To order a box of three from overseas costs us about $9 US and then about $50 in postage (expensive sex!). I hate condoms too, can see why guys don't like them...I would try the female one. Has anyone used one?

I've never experienced the FC2, so if anyone has thoughts on it, I'd be interested to hear how it works in practice vs. a male condom . . . I guess the male equivalent would be a condom that covers more area, or a small piece of molded latex that overlaps a standard condom and covers area for at least a few inches all around . . . not sure anyone has invented anything like that though, but it might be pretty easy to use (if one could get over the uniqueness/novelty factor of wearing such a thing - no photos please!)

It seems like this kind of idea has occurred to people, but I'm not sure how to feel about this particular design:

I would wear it! I Love bloomers (Vitorian style!) . I've even been googling "Crotchless bloomers!" haha. They don't look quite like what I had in mind :/ I've even been obsessing about which sexual position is least likely to bring my lover into contact with my left thigh (where I get my lesions). Is that madness? Does anyone else do this?

If you have quite an OCD type mind already, this does make life a bit trickier.

I am hoping to try out my cupid soon. I got it on Amazon from Germany, think it was abpout 7 pounds.
