My ex won't accept that he gave me herpes

Recommended Posts

I found out that it was from my ex that I got my herpes. He didn't know that cold sores are a form of herpes. He won't believe me and he won't go and get tested. I just want him to be safe with other people, what can I do to help him change his mind?

We have printouts on here that you can show him

but IMO for someone who is in denial, I'd show them the CDC's info here... you can't deny the info of the Gov't

Put a highlighter over the bit that says

How is genital herpes spread?

You can get herpes by having oral, vaginal, or anal sex with someone who has the disease.

Fluids found in a herpes sore carry the virus, and contact with those fluids can cause infection. You can also get herpes from an infected sex partner who does not have a visible sore or who may not know he or she is infected because the virus can be released through your skin and spread the infection to your sex partner(s).

Tell him he needs to go online and google "cold sores HSV1" and he'll get more than enough info.

Thanks for all of your advice and links to handouts! And it's nice to hear from other people who have the same thing I have. It seems that this is the "fun" one but if I talk to him again at least now I have some back up :)
