Q for those who had herpes that didn't hurt or blister....

Recommended Posts

I am going through a primary genital and oral herpes OB right now. I came in contact with the suspected infected partner Saturday where I performed oral and vaginal sex with him. Then Tuesday, literally out of no where, around 10 bumps showed up on my vulva and around my buttox/thighs and now it has increased. Then on Saturday two blistered formed in my mouth on my cheeks. I have had an extremely swollen and sore throat since Thurs and just general flu like symptoms. (I have been chewing on Halls all day since it helps with my throat).

But what I am confused about is why does my herpes on my genitals not hurt? They haven't busted yet either, and the bumps have been there for almost a week now. Are they going to burst and blister soon? Or when will they fade? Some are white capped, but it is so small I don't even feel it. I choose to avoid medication and want to do things naturally.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello and Welcome!

The bottom line is that everyone's experience with H is their unique experience. A combination of your personal immune system, your personal attitude towards and tolerance of pain, your sensitivity (nervous-system-wise), mental health, and the actual viral load itself may all contribute to whether you experience pain and discomfort or not. Certainly anxiety, hypochondria, and OCD will add to the negative experience (we see it here all the time by people's own admittance), whereas those who are more calm and who have a good relationship with their body and self will usually roll with the discomfort a lot better.

Certainly you will likely feel more discomfort if the blisters burst - but there are a lot of great conversations on here (I'll add some links below for starters, but use the search button and look through the FAQ's to get more ideas) on natural things you can do to help to control the OB's.

One addition you may want to add that I haven't suggested, but that I use for sore thoats in general or when I think I *may* be getting a cold is to get the Airborne Chewables ... they have a lot of good things for immune function, and by sucking on them, you put all that great stuff right on the area that is inflamed and it seems to help to get it to calm down faster for me.

This is my general advice for anyone who does have pain and itching:

Go Commando as much as possible - getting air to the area can help to dry it out more quickly

Reduce stress as much as possible - Herpes feeds off stress!!! It can become a good barometer for you that your body needs attention in some form or other

Look up Trigger Foods/triggers on here in the FAQ and search bar - lots of topics on them ... the main foods are chocolate and nuts but you want to learn about the Lysine/Argenine balance that can help keep Herpes under control

Epsom Salts baths can do wonders for some. Sit in the bath and dump a few handfuls of the salts right between your legs. Relax and let the salts do their thing then get out and dry off, finishing with a blow drier set on low heat to really get the area dry.

These 4 things seem to do the most help for the most people. Aloe Vera CREAM (make sure ALOE is one of the first ingredients and there isn't a bunch of other crap like petroleum and if it has glycerine, it's AFTER the Aloe in the ingredients .. go to a Health food store for your best chance of getting a good product) or Zinc cream may help during the day to keep it from sticking and help relieve the pain .
