Oral sex?

Recommended Posts

Right now I'm assuming you have HSV2 - as far as I can remember you have not told us which one you have.

HSV2 doesn't like the mouth or area around there very much... less than 2% of all Oral Herpes cases are HSV2. So the odds are pretty low normally anyway. Given that you BOTH have it now, well you both have (or will soon have) immunity to the H2 virus, so given both facts, I'd say you are reasonably safe. I would be especially careful for the first 4-6 months after you actually got it, just to be safe so your system can build up the antibodies. But if the other is OB free (I'd wait 5 days after it totally clears to be safe for now until you know your system has had time to build up immunity) you can play away!

And to tack onto what Dancer said, here's part of the interview I had with one of the top herpes researchers in the country where I specifically asked him about oral sex (warning: his reaction is hilarious). ;)
