Sickness

Recommended Posts

Ok so I was diagnosed a week ago, I'd had a fever two days before I went in and my first OB. I had horrible sciatic like pain and general body aches, my blood sugar was too high and I just felt awful- then finding out it was herpes causing all that- ugh, I'm still not emotionally with it where that's concerned.

My dr put me on antivirals and I'm nearing the end of the ten day acyclovir.

My question is this: Tonight I started feeling sick again, I had bad sciatic like pain this morning and now I'm feeling achy and yucky and cold- Which usually means fever for me. Can I get sick again like this? Will it ever end? I felt like things were getting better, are they going to get worse again?

Ask your doc for another perscription! And maybe ask to be on suppressives for a couple months.

i.m.o. sounds like you might be getting annother o.b.

best case scenario..... it really is just a flu..

But what u are discbring is usually the first symptons of herpes.

get lotsa rest, and keep your stress levels down by relaxing, reading, walking, taking epson salt baths, anything that doesnt cause physical or mental stress.

And yes, omg yes it does eventually end. It may come and go at times, but it will get less severe, and wont last as long.

Hello and Welcome!

Will it ever end?

Yes. Promise. If it didn't, at least 15-20% of the population would be on permanent disability thanks to HSV2 .... ;)

You are in the first few weeks of having Herpes. Your body is learning to fight the virus. The "flu symptoms" are your body trying to fight it off while the antibodies are being developed. There's a war going on in there but the good news is that it means your body is doing it's job.

The first few months are usually the worst ... and most people take 6 months to a year for the body to really get control of the virus. But there is no one way that the virus will exhibit.... in fact, it's a slippery little bastard that plays differently from one person to another for reasons that we just plain don't know.

There are things you can do to help your body to fight it off .. I'll list some links below with some suggestions that that you may want to try out. What works for one may not work for another, so you may have a little trial and error here.

I'm also going to give you a few other links that will hopefully help you to understand the virus better. Do know you WILL get better ... that in time this will be a memory and you will move on, find love, lose love, find it again, get a job, change jobs, have kids, and do all the things that everyone else does. Remember that roughly one in 5 of all the people around you has Genital Herpes ... and 8 out of 10 have Oral Herpes (and can thus pass it on to an unsuspecting partner through Oral Sex) ... so you are FAR from alone ;)
