Having one of those sad days

There are some days when I wake up hopeless, wishing there was a cure for Herpes. the H word makes me so nervous and scare. for some reason I here HIV I feel scare and so much guilt and I know I have been passed the stage in where I didn't know the difference between Herpes and HIV. but my brain finds a way to make me feel bad as if having Herpes was like having HIV. one of the reason is because now that I have Herpes, I cant donate blood and I used to love helping others. I just hope that no family member ever needs blood from me. its been 5 months since finding out I have Herpes and its been a tough and I feel happy at times but then I go back to remembering how much pain I felt when the doctor said I have Herpes. I just wish there was a cure!!!

Pretty sure your blood is as pure as it was before, you can still donate. We all have those sad days - even though 5 months is still early, I guess the hardest part is over.

Well, I'll be honest here... having HIV isn't "bad" either. There are some really GOOD people who have HIV ... the vast majority of them for that matter. Just like those of us with Herpes. They just have to be even more careful about protecting partners ... but there are great drugs to help them suppress their virus too. Magic Johnson has had it over 20 years, is married with 2 beautiful girls and his wife never got it from him. They struggle just like us.

 

How ever we got Herpes, it doesn't make us "bad". Unlucky, perhaps. Maybe even careless ...but much of the time that carelessness was because we were reaching out for come kind of validation/"love"/personal touch from a lonely place. That doesn't make us "bad" ...

 

And as already mentioned, you CAN give blood ... ;)
