Opportunity

Recommended Posts

So this weekend I had a dance competition with my daughter.

There was a girl and boy about 16 dancing a beautiful passionate dance together. The girl was absolutely beautiful in her technique. She was a lovely dancer BUT I noticed there was something missing with her dancing...lack of connection or emotion. But really technically flawless.

The judges comments were "you need to tear something down or break it so you can hit bottom and come back a stronger dancer bringing more depth and passion"

And I thought wow....that was me....that's what herpes was to me. I was living a "perfect life" that was lacking many things. H brought me to the bottom, made me question my beliefs, my wants and needs, the way I was living. I guess I needed that "tear down" so I could build something stronger more sustainable.

I really hate that I have this virus BUT it was an opportunity to look at my life and make it better.

I just hope most of the sadness can dissipate and leave happiness soon.

Hugs and love for everyone's support.

Hi @whitedaisies, good reflection! I've been there too.. i think the diagnosis of this virus is a slap in the face to anyone, a reality check if you will. But when you hit bottom, the best part is knowing there is no where to go but up. It's a great opportunity to reflect on our lives and see an opportunity ripe with change... whether that is internally, in how we treat ourselves or see ourselves, or externally, in the way we are choosing to live or in the people that surround us. Happy to see you making these breakthroughs! One step at a time, but always moving forward. Happiness will come.
