valtrex and hair loss or thinning

My hair thinned and my nails became brittle but it did finally help with chronic outbreaks. Even with meds it was chronic so I started wondering if it was the outbreaks and the amount of them I was getting caused some of those symptoms. Your body even with medication has to stress out the immune system to fight the virus.

Many do report the nails/hair issue .... I was just pointing out that if you damage your nails (OR hair for that matter) in ANY way they can only "repair" at the growth plate so it can take months for them to grow out and be normal again.

 

Perhaps you can try taking some supplements to help the nails and hair ... it may be that your system just needs a little help there .... ;)

i got huge patch on my head after I took valtrex for 6 month,,
