hello. .new to group

Hi everyone. New to this group. I just recently found out i have hsv1 but in the vaginal area. This was a shock and a surprise to me. I've found this site and others to be helpful for information. Just trying to live day by day with this situation and hope i can move on with my life. I'm hoping my family will still be together after finding out. I recently became a new first time mom in late 2014. I'm 38 tears old and been with my boyfriend for 11 years. It's great to know that I'm not alone in this situation.

Hi! Welcome, I know it's a shock. So plenty of hugs your way. As for the family staying together, I don't know, but in the scheme of things herpes is no big deal, an irritating skin infection in a pretty crappy spot, but not a whole lot more. I hope everything goes well. One day at a time :)

Thanks...it's great knowing i someplace to talk about this. I really have no one i can turn to and open up. I'm glad for the creators of this page for making this a welcoming place where you know there are others in similar situations and that no one will look down on you.

Hun, why wouldn't your family stay together, as this is no fault of your own? 50% of new genital herpes cases are from oral sex. On another forum I met a woman who had been married 30yrs, her husband gave her oral sex and she got it.

You are not alone! I have it and so does my partner, we found out together and are still together. Anything is possible.
