Valtrex side effect question

Hi all

 

I started valtrex (generic) last week.

 

I have a little fatigue and mood blunting but i am hoping that will pass

 

I also have a bit of a stinging sensation, like a sunburn, on my face and its a little pink

 

Of most concern is i have chapped lips and dry mouth. Im involuntarily sucking on my tounge and cheeks to the point where im sore from it.

 

Did anyone else get these effects? Did they go away eventually? How long did it take.

 

I really feel like daily suporession is my only shot at a normal life. I really want to be able to tolerate the meds, the dry mouth and tongue sucking might be a deal breaker. Its hard to manage. I am hoping to just power through and maybe side effects will go away.

I'm sorry, I'm just very confuses by your post? So do you have oral herpes?

Yes I get a little tired from Valtrex and it might have effects on my mood. Could be placibo.

Side effects sheet says to call your doc if you have excessive thirst, which i have. I have an appointment tomorrow so i will ask

I also got really super dry lips, general feeling of dryness and dehydration, and a sunburned feeling. It did get better with time, though.

Your first OB is probably what was making you sick. I was the same way. It was the primary OB, not the meds . they do make me tired so I take at night and I'm fine.

You are the first person ive come accross with this same side effect. It is pretty hard to tolerate.

I feel so hopeful that you said it went away!!

How long did it take, do you remember?
