Vitamins and Supplements!

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I've been researching a lot on herpes and a lot of people seem to be taking vitamins and supplements. I heard lysine is good for herpes and vitamins c.

I was wondering if they help with herpes and what is the correct dosage i should be taking? Also, if there are any other recommendations!

Thank you!

I'm a fan of vitamins and such, but I take them as part of an overall desire to be healthy, not specifically for herpes. If you use the search bar at the top of the page, you'll find more posts on this topic to get other opinions. Also, if you have an opportunity to see a naturopathic doctor (usually not covered by insurance), they would be an excellent resource to make some recommendations specific to your needs.

@shatteredgirl47 I've been taking a number of supplements daily since testing positive for HSV 1 & 2 about a month ago. I've been taking Lysine, Vitamin C, Olive Oil Extract, and Astragalus. While I have no idea if these will ultimately help with Herpes, I do know that they WILL help strengthen my immune system, which will hopefully help my body stay healthy and fight off any outbreaks....at least that's my thinking, and obviously being more healthy will not only help with outbreaks but with all other aspects of life.
