Do False negative really happen for genital herpes?

my fwbs  i had sex with her about 2 months ago and and two weeks after she told me she got tested and  she found he has genitial herpes .I got my self tested 3 days after for full std/herpes  .I got a postive for  hsv 1 and lab guy told its no big deal (a month ago )But today i noticed on my penis some sort of small bump like pimple  on my penis head .could this be an outbreak or something ?could I had my test been a false negative for genital herpes

Your test wasn't negative for genital herpes, it was positive for HSV-1. HSV1 can be on your genitals, in fact many people at this website have genital outbreaks of HSV-1. Something like 40% of new genital herpes cases are now HSV-1. HSV-2, on the other hand, is more often on your genitals and rarely on your face. Is your penis bump an HSV-1 outbreak? Maybe, but there are lots of other possible explanations. The lab tech told you it was no big deal because something like 80% of the population has HSV-1.

Long story short: if you have symptoms, show them to a Dr.

@Ishmael thank you for your response.,i had forgotten to mention the person who i had sex with was digones with genital herpes but when i got tested i only had hsv 1 could it be possible to have mised it

It could be possible that they have her hsv1 on their genitals. Herpes is herpes when it comes to the genital region, wether it’s hsv1 or hsv2.

I'm not sure you understand what I am saying.

HSV-1 can be genital herpes.

HSV-2 can be genital herpes. 

If you tested positive for HSV-1, you might have it on your genitals or on your face (oral herpes). Your test did not tell you that you had or did not have genital herpes. Blood tests can't do that. What they can tell you is what strain of HSV you have. Did your partner have HSV-1 or did your partner have HSV-2? Both can be genital.

@ishgiverShe only told me gential herpes .Lab guy confused me because he told me not to worry because hsv1 would just be mouth sores and stuff.but now I get what you saying

@ishgiver i asked her she told me she was podotive for  hsv 2 and i just noticed something like pimple on my  penis neck .i got test a month ago with posotive hsv1 so this could an outbreak or something.

i didnt even notice it untill this morning
