  1. It's not the exact same thing no... its similar. However, naproxen works wonders with inflammation!
  2. Omg I envy you! I have ALWAYS wanted to do that! In the bikini area and my upper lip... I don't have a mustache lol but it is a little darker than peach yes its embarrassing lol! Does it cost a lot?
  3. Yup mine is right by my nail... Ughhhhh I hate it so much... I feel like it is worse than my genital herpes because you use your hands for everything! And people look at you like ew what is that?!! I usually have it bandaged up but when it scabs over I like to try to let it breathe a little. Plus like I said you use your hands for everything so its always being aggravated.
  4. I believe in God very strongly and I love what you posted!!! It is so true... God didn't do this to us... He doesn't punish. And like Msmee said it could always be worse!!! Things happen for a reason. I don't believe God gave me H but now that I have it, I'm sure he plans something out for me. I have other conditions too that are way worse than H... I have a neurological disorder, which sadly I passed to my daughter, and I have chiari which is a malformation of my brain that causes headaches. There is a reason for this, who knows what it is yet. But in time all will be reviled. Thank you for such a wonderful post!!!
  5. I get herpes whitlow which is herpes on your finger tip :( I feel that its more embarrassing that my genital herpes.
  6. I know some of you are not religious which is fine, I will not try to ram religion down your throat lol. But for those who are I have some good quotes... "God hangs the greatest weights upon the smallest wires." (which I have tattooed on me) "God will let me bend, but he will not let me break." Then there are non religious quotes that I love... "Things happen in life that you cannot stop, but that doesn't mean you need to shut out the world." "Some people see a weed, I see a wish." (about the weeds that you can blow and you used to make wishes as children) I really loved that Martin Luther King quote that you put down.... Very true!
  7. I agree with @DancerWCS2010 it would be amazing for a doctor to get on this site especially if that doctor has H too!
  8. Your fiance sounds just like my wonderful boyfriend :) Very similar situation happened with us. Except I found out after exactly to the day a year after we started dating. We have no idea where it came from. And I still always wonder from time to time, but I know that will do me no good since I probably will never know. However, I believe in my heart that he did not cheat on me and I know I didn't cheat on him. I work in a huge medical building, one of the facilities is the obgyn, so I'm close with the doctors there. The one midwife told me her friend was married for 10 years and she had an outbreak. Saying that they were both faithful to each other. So that definitely gave me hope. I'm so happy that you have such a wonderful man in your life!!!
  9. They are required to keep records up to 5 years well 5 to 7 years. They should have it if it only has been 5 years. It sounds like you came to the office that I work at where they are completely backwards. Maybe try the clinic instead
  10. @seeker it does have some effect on me because I work in a doctors office but I make sure I keep it covered
  11. @willow I know right? Lol but thank you I will try that. @ seeker it was very itchy this morning and kinda hurts when I touch it or hit it on something. But the first time I got it, it was very painful. I feel like a genital outbreak is coming on now :( getting a tingly throbbing pain. And I'm supposed to see my man this weekend. Bummer
  12. Hello. Back in May I got herpes whitlow on my finger. And now its back on the same finger... smh! Has anyone else ever had this? If so what did you do for it? And for a little side humor... Its on my ring finger... I guess I married herpes (funny but not funny lol)
  13. I am going to have to agree with Dancer about the guy.... I was with my bf for literally a year to the day that I found out I had it. And at first I was thinking "who did he cheat on me with? Why didn't he tell me that he had it." But then I had to realize that maybe he really did not know! And I know that he did not cheat... He did have a very "easy" gf before me so there are assumptions of where it originally came from. But if I try to seriously find out exactly where it came from I'm going to go mad... Take the fact that he keeps calling and texting as a sign that he really does care. I mean 15 months is a long time... You should tell him and then wait for the reaction. Be honest with him. I hope he didn't know that he had it and not tell you but maybe he really didn't know!
  14. I put tea tree oil on mine and it usually clears it right up. Also makes it feel like it can breathe! I also put it on when I feel an ob coming along!
  15. I would go get it checked to be honest. When was your last std screen? I'm in now way shape or form trying to scare you. It could be a bump from shaving or possibly a wart (again not trying to scare you!) The hpv virus is so very common! Try not to worry which I know from experience is very difficult since I suffer from anxiety to the extreme! But it cannot hurt to go get it looked at!
  16. I was diagnosed back in March on me and my bf's 1 yr anniversary! I was devastated!!! I of course questioned if he cheated, but then I was told that it could go up to 10 years without any outbreaks!!! I was so devastated when I found out though... I couldn't eat or sleep for over a week! I lost 10 lbs in a week. My bf is in the military so I don't get to see him everyday. I was finally relieved when I got to see him and I just hugged him and bawled my eyes out while he held me in his arms.... He told me that everything was ok and that he still loved me no matter what. My best friend even made me feel amazing because the very next day she was drinking after me lol. I was shocked because I figured no one would want to do that even though my outbreaks are below. Plus I was not as knowledgeable (lack for a better word) in the condition. Now my friend is like its just a cold sore, nothing to be ashamed of. I work for a doctor and I told her and how embarrassed I was and she laughed... not in a bad way though, she laughed because she knows people with herpes and said that she never met anyone as embarrassed as I was about it. Your son can always contact me if he would like and I can help him in anyway possible. I am pretty young as well I am only 29... so maybe if he knows people around his age have it then he wont feel as ashamed.
  17. @WCSDancer2010 that is very true. I never really looked at it like that. Thanks for the insight. My best friend and I do joke about it from time to time lol but we seriously joke about everything! lol!!! Our
  18. @inka I also to get very sensitive to jokes about herpes. And it sucks because before I got diagnosed I did too. And I am really sorry to everyone for that. It sucks to hear jokes about it and have people undermined those who do have it and think that just because someone has herpes that they are disgusting and a slut.... The jokes and stereotypes are what hurts me the most. The stereotype of anyone with any type of std is always that the person is nasty and easy. But I'm neither of those things. Ya know?
  19. I took a shower with my daughter and used the same washcloth and then started freaking out! I was so scared that I gave her this condition. I was in a panic. But these lovely people calmed me down and reassured me that it would be highly unlikely! Mrs. WCDSDancer has always helped in all of my discussions on here :). I'm sure your son is fine. I also LOVE to cuddle my daughter at bed time. She is my little snuggle bear. And by being concerned it shows that you are a great mother and a caring one at that!
  20. Oh wow really? Yeah I have type 2. Still trying to cope with it all since its only been 6 months. But I'm getting better day by day. I'm much better than how I was 6 months ago though. Thank you for your help everyone!
  21. This question may be a little tmi but what really is on this site? (and that is not a bad thing, actually a great thing, since everyone is so open and non judgemental!) Ok so my question is... has anyone had oral sex even after they tested positive for h? My bf and I haven't since we have been diagnosed out of fear that we will break out orally. I obviously know to not have oral when either one is having an outbreak of course, but what are the chances when not? I know that we also shred too. I'm just confused... Sorry if this was a little too much lol.
  22. I was diagnosed in mid March with H. I started taking the suppressant right away and kept taking it. I decided about a week and a half ago to stop taking it and see what happens. Well I had my second outbreak. I was so upset that the moment I stopped taking the medicine I broke out again. HOWEVER, this time I only had what I believe one sore. So I took the medicine again and have been everyday. The outbreak only lasted a few days though. So that made me happy. My question is... (and I know everyone is different) who takes the suppressant and who doesn't. Likewise if you don't take the suppressant how many outbreaks have you had in the first year and how long did they last?
