Hi. Just to clarify your comment dancer, anti-virals are only active in presence of a virus? What exactly does that mean. Like owl, I have GHSV1 and I am having constant outbreaks as well. Just pimples and they don't hurt, just itch before they come, but its happening all the time and I am trying to reduce stress, not eating much chocolate, nuts and just started taking lysene. Anyway, went on anti-virals and really didn't seem to do much. Not to be TMI, but when I am on them my skin smelled like the medication, does that mean the meds were not active? And perhaps the pimples were not always herpes related? I know this is a weird question, but I just wondered because I can't believe that I am getting so many outbreaks in a row....its ridiculous. I feel like a freak and I am dying to have sex but I am worried because of the frequency of outbreaks.

Great advice, but the pill always gave me yeast infections. I don't know what's worse! UGH! Also, can herpes infection of the cervix cause cancer? Ugh, I am worried now about all this clotting?

Not on antivirals no, I tried them but they didn't work very well. I tried Valtrex. I will see my gyno about changes in period. thanks

There are no sores, just burning in the vaginal area....some aching down my leg. This happens everytime. Is this going to stop, I am getting exhausted with it all the time....is this going to happen every month for the rest of my life? Tell me it gets better....

So I have noticed since I got herpes, my periods have changed. Don't know if this is a coincidence or not. At first I had more nausea and cramping and my privates had a tad burning feeling....minor but there. Now, I sometimes get an outbreak before which is minor, and the cramping has mostly gone and the nausea, but I get a lot more blood and some clotting. Anyone else experience this? I don't know if its coincidence, have an appointment with my gynoecologist, but kind of nervous something else is going on down there or if herpes have just affected it. Any comments?
