We're both HSV2 positive

Recommended Posts

my bf and I are newbies to this dis-ease

we're in a monogamous relationship. is it still prudent to make him wear condoms when we have sex? afterall, i would hate for the sores to spread/appear in dif spots like particularly inside my vagina or on my cervix...is that possible?

No, you don't have to wear condoms if you both have herpes. Just don't have sex when either of you have an active outbreak or feel one coming on. That's how the outbreak can spread to other parts of your genitals/body if there is a cut/abrasion and the outbreak rubs against it. But when you aren't having an active outbreak, then even viral shedding should be stopped from spreading by the antibodies in the other person's body that have been built up against HSV-2. Make sense?
