Abreva commercial: Why cold sore instead of herpes?

So I'm sitting here watching tv. Instead of tuning out the commercial I actually listened. Not once during the Abreva commercial did they mention the word herpes. The coldsore word was using handful of times. Why don't they state coldsore a is a form of herpes? One statement could educate so many. Thoughts?

I think cause big pharma still wants it to be an epidemic.. I think they make so much money off antivirals, that's why... They need it to keep spreading

Found this interesting, while trying to find out how much big pharma makes off antivirals... And Twrri Warren has been a receiver from them, for pushing valtrex... Things that make you go hhhmmm...

I think also..well, since genital herpes has such a stigma, it's easier for them to keep it that way. Keep millions scared and quiet, how many people announce they're on valtrex? Let the others feel free and happy, with just an embarrasing 'coldsore', how many people have no problem saying i tried abreva? Let the others feel shame and hide in the dark because they have 'herpes'. Each marketing campaign does the same thing keep the money flowing. Demonize one, and normalize the other. Whatever sells...which is sad.

Likely they are afraid of setting off a huge panic and mass stigma shaming if people suddenly realized that Herpes and Cold Sores are the same thing ...

 

I don't think any of the "Cold Sore" meds that I've seen ever mention Herpes on their packaging :/

But cancer like you've pointed out, the fact we don't talk about it and testing isn't done automatically, is what's making it a stigma.
