Balding

Who else is balding from having oral and genital hsv2? Don’t say it’s not the disease because I had a full head of hair before I caught this awful disease.

@Stupida, Obvious question here but are you taking antivirals?  I've read they could be the culprit and I can definitely say that I started taking Acyclovir daily about three months ago and within a few weeks I noticed it was thinning my hair out.  If not the antivirals then not sure if it is the actual herpes.  TBH I haven't read anyone reporting hair loss b/c of HSV alone but it seems anything is possible with this darn virus.  We'll see if anyone else chimes in here..

Hair loss is a potential side effect of Acyclovir, but not, as far as I'm aware, herpes. Some people get the hair loss but most don't.

I know hair loss also can be from depression, anxiety, worries or lack of quality sleeping.

This too. Herpes is a very stressful, even traumatic, diagnosis for many people, and this could be connected. What I read is that Acyclovir can cause apolopecia, which is hair loss everywhere, so if you're just seeing some thinning on your head, it might be stress.

Drink lots of water while on antivirals to keep them from getting clogged up in your kidneys.

Good tip. Thanks! I have problems to drink a lot of water. Lol. Need to work on myself

I'm not on antivirals, but I do have both ohsv2 and ghsv2, which is probably effecting my immunity, which is causing my hair loss.

Has anyone reported hair regrowth?
