  1. @fitgirl I'm just concerned since I'm newly diagnosed in dec. I don't want to do anything that's going potentially cause another outbreak.. thank you for the input everyone
  2. @ann122 thank you. I'll give that a try. I lost quite a bit of weight from stressing on my hsv diagnosis so I'm pretty flabby. :-(
  3. I've been reading that working out can cause an OB. is this true? I want to get back in the gym and start lifting weights to tone but now I'm pretty nervous it will cause an OB
  4. @wcsdancer2010 I've only had one OB in December I noticed two small like cuts when I was off meds and you said those are paper cut obs. I haven't had any actual ob since I started my acyclovir a few weeks ago. . I only notice tingling when I sit and lay on my back " you told me that the tingling from laying on my back is probably nerves not herpes". I'm wondering g if the tingling could be from my jeans as well since I like my pants to have a snug fut. I'm wondering if I should wait a little longer to have sex. How many months should I wait post initial ob to have sex to lessen the risk to my partner?
  5. I have yet to have sex with my partner since my December diagnosis. I'm just curious since I'm in my first year with the infection and am in suppressive therapy are my chances higher to lass it to my non infected partner ?
  6. @wcsdancer2010 that makes sense I'll deffinately do that . It has since went away and I've only felt it after I took a shower. I wonder if soap could have irritated it or something. Thank you
  7. I'm noticing tingling in my vaginal area when I sit and lay on my back. Is that normal? Has anyone had that same experience? I also notice every once in a while I feel like I have the onset of a uti is this an ob or possible prodrome symptom?
  8. @positivelybeautiful Ithe reason im asking is I had sexual relations with a new partner Dec 13th and was tested Dec 22nd and got my results that week and my results were 1.30igg. I'm just wondering if I was newly infected or if I've had it since I already antibodies
  9. How long does it usually take for antibodies to show up on an igg test?
  10. Thank you @wcsdancee2010 I'm still working on the stress factor. I had a rough day just thinking about my hsv. I'm really trying to get to a place if acceptance but everything is so new and since I'm just learning the hsv symptoms and prodome symptoms it's a bit stressful
  11. @wcsdancer2010 are paper cut outbreaks normal? This is the second Time ive noticed it. Does this mean that entire area is releasing the virus even though t here isint any fluid? I do believe it was you that mentioned building tolerance. :-)I think I'm going to try it and see how it goes.
  12. @beachdude84 thank you for your in site
  13. @beachdude1984 I've tried to take valtrex and was fine at first and then I received a refill front a different mfg and I started feeling crazy.. literally! I was then given acyclovir and didn't have the crazy feeling but was very nauses and not 100% myself as well as swetting a lot down below ( sorry if it's tmi). I was also very depressed due to my recent diagnosis and was not eating so I don't know if that caused the meds to make me sick. I'm wondering if I didn't give myself time adjust to the meds so building up my tolerance seems like a good idea. My boyfriend has not been tested yet.we recently took a break and I had intercourse with someone new and used latex which I'm sensative to and became irritated. I ended up going to the after hrs clinic and was visually diagnosed with hsv.i took an igg blood test and was 1.30 hsv 2 and neg hsv1. So I'm thinking it was a new infection. It was about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks from in sexual in counter to getting the test results. With that said should I still have him get tested now that we're back together?
  14. Being recently diagnosed this December I'm still learning my body. I've noticed twice now a small tear at the bottom of my vagina opening. Is this and outbreak or a prodome symptom? I've also been feeling a little different down there..seems like my area down there was irritated/tender but for no apparent ireason. I've been thinking every single titxh or tingle is an ob coming. I'm also not on meds due to the way they made me feel but I would like to start taking something soo I don't infect my partner. I have yet to have sex since I was diagnosed for fear if infecting him. Another user mentioned possible taking 1/4 of the daily dose of the daily preacription. If I do this will my partner be protected? And will it be enough for the hsv to be suppressed?
  15. I was only on them for a little while and did not have an issue with vaginal dryness. I did have an issue with the way the medication made me feel. I was just diagnosed in December and have yet to have intercourse due to being nervous as well
  16. @beachdude1984 @losthusker @mmissouri thank you for your input on this it really helped. I'm thinking of taking @wcsdancer2010 advice and building up my tolerance by taking smaller doses and increasing it over time
  17. @wcsdancer2010 I've decided to wait until I have Symptoms of a possible outbreak to take meds. And if and when I do I'll see how they work for me. But I love your view on taking small doses and building up to the full dose so my body can get used to it. Thank you so much for your advice.
  18. I had bad experiences on generic valtrex and acyclovir and was recently prescribed brand name valtrex that I have yet to pick up due to the high cost. I was wondering if anyone experienced any difference with the generic vs brand name medications. And if you have what we're the side effects.
  19. @WCSDANCER2010 Thank you for responding. I think you're right about me buying into the stigma. I'm just so lost.. I over think everything and believe every tingle, itch and different feeling is and ob or prodome. Is an ob only when you have blisters? I'm also nervous because I'm in a relationship with a non infected partner and since I can't tolerate daily meds I'm concerned about him catching it. Is it true your first out break is usually the worst?
  20. Libragirl 43 Thank you for going over your breakouts in detail. I've only had one breakout in December and have not had another. My breakout was not to bad I've heard some horror stories. And it lasted maybe 2 weeks from the onset of symptoms until when I was completely healed. I just came from the doctor and she thinks it's best if I only take meds when I have the onset of an ob. Since I'm still learning my body I'm probably going to think every tingle and itch is an ob. My mind has just been going crazy over this. She did prescribe me the name brand valtrex meds and not a generic to see if I can tolerate the brand name better. It just sucks that my body is super sensative with meds and I can't take them daily. I'm hoping some of the natural vitamins help. I'm currently taking zinc, emergen c, vitamin b complex and echinecha (spelling?) Lol.. I really appreciate you talking toe it helps to talk to someone who knows exactly what I'm going through
  21. Libre girl 43 I'm going to look into getting the book you mentioned. I deffinately nerd to find a way to heal myself. I'm a complete stress case since I don't understand what's going on with my body. I was told to take the meds for 6 months but if I'm having issues like this I'm not sure I can. This is all so much to deal with Thank you for responding I really appreciate it
  22. Ann122... thank you for responding. It's crazy to me that the first few weeks I feel fine and then all of a sudden I'm ridiculously nauses. I've lost a lot of weight due to lack of appetite. When I was told to stop taking the valtrex i felt great for about a week and then all of a sudden I started getting nauses and felt a uti coming on. I'm assuming those are prodome symptoms. Are prodome symptoms considered an outbreak? I will deffinately keep in contact with you if you don't mind I need someone to talk to that understands exactly what I'm going through.
  23. Hi everyone. I'm recently diagnosed with hsv2 and would love a female buddy to talk to. I reside in sacramento,ca. Please inbox me. I would love to have someone to talk to about this.
  24. I just recently found out I has hsv 2 positive in Dec 2014. I feel like my life is over. I went to the after hours clinic with symptoms of a uti, vaginal irritation and a yeast infection. When I went I and the dr seen me she said it was herpes. There were a couple blisters I didn't see. I had flu like symptoms as well as bad siatic pain. I was given meds that helped with that ob. I asked my obgyn to prescribe me something to take daily to try and suppress any ob's. I was on valtrex 500mg a day and at first it was fine but after I got a refill I started going crazy and becoming suicidal. So my doctor switched me to acyclovir 400mg twice a day and I was ok on that at first but now I'm super nauses and just want to die. I don't know what to do. Why do these medications make me feel crazy, nausea, tired, no energy. I'm over all of this and just feel like killing myself would be the best bet.
