I just have a logical question w no judgement. You say you have a past w infidelity or she's suspected it. You say that observation isn't baseless, but you say you haven't cheated and fear she's going to think you have. I'm confused. It sounds like you're admitting to have cheated, but also saying you didn't? You said 16 months ago you were negative, but now are positive. Being negative 16 months ago would be indicative of a new infection. Did you maybe have an affair 6 months or more ago, that would make you concerned about bumps to begin w and seek STD testing? I'm only asking for clarification, because as a woman, your story wouldn't add up to me for the above reasons, where timelines don't make sense. .. It is not OK to not disclose to your wife your status. Some of us are forever changed health wise by H and yes we're the exception and not the rule, it does happen and you have no idea how your wife's immune system will respond. She could have permanent lifetime neuropathy.. There are some who suffer from that 25yrs later. I'm someone who has gotten that and now two yrs aterz I still have back to back obs almost. I think if you love her, you'll do the right thing for her, not what's right for you.

Omg! You should have gone to the ER when you got sick like that! It sounds like you got viral meningitis from it, luckily it's not deadly and just has to run its course, but it can come w complications and you're lucky you didn't have extra fluid in your brain. Next time you get sick like that and have a stuff neck, you need to go to the ER ASAP! .he probably tested negative, because he just got it from sleeping w her and passed it to you during the incubation period. Takes 4 months to show. Your symptoms previously are indicative of an OB.. Sometimes people get it and don't have full on obs until something like stress or trauma down there triggers it. Keep in mind, my thyroid test came back normal too, but when they tested my antibodies, I was in full blown autoimmune thyroid failure. Yeah, sounds like you have neuralgia and I'm not surprised you feel it more after the hysterectomy, as that's why I haven't gotten one yet. I am terrified of what it will do for me, being I can't control it the virsu as is. Did you keep your ovaries or no? If no, your hormones coukd be playing a part into it. If it's intolerable, ask about Lyrica for nerve pain.

You might also take interest in the guy who comments named Silverfox and the insanity of having all these negative tests, including the western blot, yet swabbed positive. Dancer, that was me on the forum redirecting questions they should be asking on this type of forum and not to a scientist, trying to make it through the bureaucracies of the FDA and big pharma. I couldn't believe people were asking him questions like they were.. I know it's a hard pill to swallow right now, but we're all going to fuck up and hurt someone in a relationship and some worse than others. It is inevitable. This question has been answered. On his other thread yesterday, he said it's Herpes zoster and today is HSV 1. He hasn't been tested yet. . and said yesterday he will test for Herpes zoster and for some reason, not the other's.

@elise1977 thank you for bringing up a very good and valid point. "But if I knew my partner already had hsv2, I'd be relieved of a lot of guilt and worry." Bravo for a very valid point and I agree w you on that and I can see why typing would still be important. W that said, my points were to show how removing typing, would take away the stigma of genital herpes. As I've stated before, I never said there was any flaw w in my hypothetical opinion of how to remove the stigma of herpes. Again, this was all about how to remove the stigma. Statistics say that oral HSV 2 is pretty rare and I'm not sure if I believe it's as rare as stated, but the current statistics are all we have to go off of. I do know it's no where close to being as common orally as HSV 1. So the likely hood he had orak hsv2 isn't really in his favor for his story he told you, but coukd be a possibility. I think it's more likely that he may have kept it from you all this time, out if fear of rejection and disclosure. How long have you two been together? What you need from him. Is to be stoic. Him apologizing to you probably doesn't feel like what you need, because you want and need someone to be strong for you right now, not you be the validation and strength to soothe his guilt so to speak. One thing men don't understand is, women need to vent their shit out loud and we're not necessarily looking for a pity party or a solution. We just want a listening ear and men don't get this. When I find myself obsessing about a situation that I have no other choice but to live w and yet I still worry over it; I ask myself this one question: what other choice do I have? That choice we have, is to learn to be at peace and recognize that this little virus isn't going anywhere, nor is it conducive to live out the rest of your life feeling the say you do. So w some self coaching, you can chnage your thought pattern . when you start going there, stop it and say nope, nope, nope.. Not going to do this again. That breaks up the repetitive cycle of telling our story to ourselves and allows your brain to then get distracted by something else. It takes some time, but it works to retrain your brain and to turn off that negative cycle.

And hun, your recurrents won't be that bad. Just get in daily suppressive meds at least for 6-12 months and then see how your body does.

Wow that is a crazy story. No, he did not give himself genital herpes through masturbation since it's HSV 2. Your story about tearing bad and taking a long time to heal, told me immediately, that was likely due to Herpes, so I wasn't surprised after I read more and saw that you came up positive. We just had a married woman w kids on here recently, that found out her husband had herpes, from finding his medication bottle. I'm assuming you don't know your type? HSV 2 infection would be in your genitals, there's no reason to stop sharing any if that. Fear spreading it through the toilet or anything else. Have you ever had cold sores? If you're negative for HSV 1 orally, then you don't have to worry about that. 5. Everyone feels that way at first and realize this will not last. You will come to leave and acceptance of this. You are not dirty. You are a living being. Humans all contact at least 3-5 of the 8 human herpes viruses by the time we're adults.
