  1. Vegan here too and it sucks. I don’t know if my incessant (but mild) outbreaks are partially due to diet. But I’m not going to change my morals because of this.
  2. It is possible, yes, although it’s unusual. Given the high vale it’s not a mistake, sorry. Also given the bad outbreak and unprotected encounter there’s a good chance this is how you got it. Still, you should get it swabbed, at least to compare the type to your igg.
  3. You definitely need to get retested at 16
  4. Yes, there is a very real chance that is a false positive. False positives are more likely if you have hsv1. Get retested and either tell him what’s happened or abstain in the meantime. Don’t take antivirals before you retest.
  5. There is a pretty high chance this is a false positive. Low positives like this are usually false, and it’s even more likely since you don’t have symptoms. There is really no difference between. .97 and 1.08 so I would not say this is a positive trend. Check back in in a couple months and I bet it will be negative.
  6. It is possible to have it in both places if you contracted it around the same time, it doesn't move. It is not hard to imagine that if you have ghsv1 you got oral hsv1 in the same encounter.
  7. There is the extremely rare person who never tests positive. That's the other explanation. But if you seroconvert in a week or 2 and so does she, well, that's it
  8. This has to be asked: if your blood test was igg, is there any chance your girlfriend recently cheated on you? Negative blood test + positive swab is the one situation where that becomes the most plausible answer. Do not accuse her, however, it is the most likely answer with that combo
  9. If they don't have sores, very low. If they do, quite high, but hsv2 protects against hsv1, so you're okay
  10. It is simply not possible for the same herpes blisters to last that long. It would also be uncommon, although not at all impossible, for them NEVER to itch. Your doctors should know better. Certainly, I would avoid sexual contact because who knows what it is, but it ain't herpes.
  11. Herpes doesn't last for 5 weeks, especially without changing. Given your sexual history you there is basically no chance you have herpes. Again, what you're describing is not herpes.
  12. Yes, you could be finding out about it now. You can't really tell an initial outbreak from a later one, it's mostly a guessing game. If it's a big one it's probably an initial outbreak. Your kids almost certainly don't have it. It's up to you if you think they should be tested. It is possible they have it. Your husband should definitely be tested. Don't be sexually active until your symptoms have been gone for a week (unless he has it too). Lysine is the most commonly taken supplement for herpes
  13. If your herpes is genital then there is no issue with oral whatsoever
  14. This is not a thing, you did not give anyone hsv2 by swimming with them. Don't worry.
  15. No, those numbers do not indicate an infection. Almost no one will have numbers literally at 0. You should wait a few weeks and then test again. Your symptoms do sound quite a bit like hsv.
