Can shaving /waxing cause OB????

I have huge problem. Before contracting herpes when i shave or was i use to get terible ingrows and itching when the hair was growing back. Now after ciontracting herpes , i didny shave for a year. Now after i shave recently, the bumps arent like the pripr ingrowns but rather small. My vagina is very itchy and red bunps come where the hair follicle is. Its not fill with pus. Could shaving trigger OB?

Shaving has been known to trigger outbreaks since it is pretty harsh on the area. Are you using a straight razor? If so, perhaps try changing to an electric shaver that won't be so harsh on the skin? Perhaps other women on here have some shaving tips they can share!

P.S. — The bumps might not be an actual outbreak; the only way to know for sure is when they show up, visit your doctor/clinic to get the area swabbed and tested. That will give you valuable data to know for sure.

Waxing triggers it for me but so far the schick women’s electric razor works fine. However, im also not shaving in the target areas.

I get waxed every 4 weeks and have never had it trigger an OB. Each person is different. Drinking, poor diet, waxing, stress...none of it triggers an OB for me. 🤷‍♀️
