Once again I feel like such an idiot..

Recommended Posts

So.. Here I go. At first I thought this bump on my eye was a stye, but it keeps coming. I think I might infected my eye.. I have this same bump that comes back multiple times on my bottom left eyelid.. It hurts, it looks like a little pimple. Woke up with it again this morning. I flushed my eye.. Feels a little better, but it hurts really bad. I feel so stupid, because I definitely did not intend to do this !

UGH fml!

I know not everything is herpes guys! Lolol.. But I can't help but worry. You know ! I am a worry wart.. I will go get it swabbed, but by the time I get a doctors appointment it might be gone ! D: I am keeping an eye on it.. and I am also going to continue to put a hot compress on it just because of the pain.

Yeah I have been putting a hot compress on it and it is not going away.. I haven't had a stye in years, and usually they swell up my whole eyelid.. that is why I am getting worried because I remember not being careful and rubbing my eyes before H.. I wasn't the best at cleaning my hands like I am now.

Hi,

Have a question this discussion has raised. Dancer you have any idea of how high your reading on the IGG test would be before you don't need to worry spreading to your eyes. My IGG was over a 4.0 three weeks ago during my first oral ob (still fighting with it). Been extremely concerned about this possibility too.

So always - thanks - Ra

I have no idea about what number would be considered "safe" and given that Herpes doesn't play nicely when it comes to "rules" I'm not sure I'd trust that anyway.

I'd just say be very careful for 4-6 months post-initial OB. By that time you should be ok. Personally I didn't know about any kind of auto inoculation when I got it (back in Prehistoric times...LOL!) so I didn't take any special precautions and I never got it anywhere else. So don't panic - just practice good cleanliness practices and you should be fine :)
