valtrex vs anxiety

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced panic attacks with valtrex?

I was driving hm from brunch, no stress, in a good mood, and right before i parked in the driveway started overheating. Breathing realky fast. I imidiatly went to the sink and splashed cold water over my face and neck and arms.

 

With valtrex ive noticed a bit of tiredness, and back in jan when i had to take 2x500mg daily i got disoriented, so im wondering if this panic attack is a slight cause from the valtrex or if somehow its anxiety kicking in, even though nothing realky triggered anxiety.

 

Any thoughts?!?

I have never used Valtrex. I have used Acyclovir. I found it to be very effective. The only side effect i ever experianced was a case of diarhea, and that may only have been a coincidence. I was told by a doctor it was one of the safest drugs on the market.

 

I was prescribed Famvir one time. It was not very effective for me so I asked the doctor for Acyclovir instead. Talk with your doctor and see what he/she thinks.

I just was prescribed Valtrex after my first outbreak three weeks ago (2x 500mg). My prescription was for 10 days and the outbreak was fairly mild. During the end of the prescription I had experienced some dizziness.

 

I have experienced a decent amount of anxiety this week because I began feeling the fever and flu like symptoms again. Sure enough, I woke up with a smaller outbreak this morning... I am still very new to H so I have not really figured out my prodromal symptoms yet... I'm not sure if this is a "second" outbreak or an extension of my first because I was diagnosed only 3 weeks ago. I will make sure to update you if I experience any anxiety this week while taking Valtrex again.

This is a list of side effects that is listed with Valtrex - it DOES mention that if you have mood changes to talk to your Dr. Doesn't specifically say panic attacks...

I have been on valtrex since september. And ive never had a panic attack.. not to say its not possible. But no anxiety or panic attacks for me

I tried Valtrex and it made me in a super bad mood so had to stop taking it!
