  1. It is just saying if you did not get tested for both because they are type specific then that means you could still have the other in not know your status. The place I went to did not test for HSV-1. I think I put that more simply here hahaha
  2. Mine say the opposite (coinfection with HSV-1 cannot...) I assumed that it meant that with the test I was given did not check for HSV-1 because it was type specific for HSV-2, and therefore there was a possibility that I may have HSV-1. SO if you did in fact get both tested and got seperate results for them then you should disregard that statement bc you know your status for both.. which mean you had a type specific test done for the two types. Some places only test for one and some for both so they make that clear by this statement in the results. I hope I helped :)
  3. @WCSDancer2010 So sorry again... the hsv can make you feeling really all over... achy and a bit weak. I don't want my paranoia to get the best of me. Unfortunately, I enjoy getting tested like a maniac, but I'd rather bc usually it's just my imagination
  4. Oh okay. Yea, I don't have that part... my throat does hurt a bit but I don't see anything abnormal...
  5. I like the way you put all of that @WCSDancer2010 and too bad you never saw your childhood sweetheart again... tends to be that way.. hmm I wonder where mine is now. And @thatguy don't worry so much where it came from... It WILL drive to crazy... you may never know and can never be sure. The focus should be if you have then learning how to be careful in the future (: No biggie
  6. @thisisgoingtobeokay. Sounds like me! I woke up like that this morning... Started to feel paranoid and figured I'd get tested again for the Big H virus :o . Oh, those white spots may be tonsil stones which can be removed at home (instructions online) but if that aren't removable then it may be tonsillitis... I had my bout for months since last year. Gargling with listerine can help keep the bacteria down in the meantime. Back to the symptoms you... and I are feeling, are those normal to experience due to H??
  7. Hi Nic. Nice to meet you btw. :) Read your last poem a couple nights ago, and it made me feel warm and delicate... Appreciated it because yes, we are all blessed although at times it gets tough.
  8. Awww now that is beautiful :) Great for you two. And I am glad you came back to tell us. See NO WORRIES
  9. :) Thank you much, @WCSDancer2010. That is true. As a person of faith I know things are the way they are for a reason... It's just going through the motions gets tough. I am looking for new productive ways to divert my attention. I have always been a worry bug and as many challenges I've been through you'd think I would have learned by now. I know that these things help to keep me grounded so I'll just take it as that. haha :/ And yes, words are so powerful... so I won't use that again. And that is awesome... I hope to meet a potential companion that is accepting in due time.
  10. Hmm... That post showed me I have a couple depression factors I need to knock out or work on. Thanks for the post.
  11. Okay so, although I have not had a breakout to my knowledge, I have been stressing over this.... and losing my hair! I believe I have had traction alopecia for years that really reveals it's ugliness when I am under stress.(I woke up a few mornings ago and a patch had broken off while I slept.) I have to worry little about breakouts, and more about shedding all my hair because it's so fragile, more so now. This is so upsetting. And Herpes is sooo unnecessary! I just needed to vent because this adds to my frustration. I have been wondering whether I am currently experiencing prodromal symptoms or whether it's just my body adjusting to this homewrecker.
  12. That is great to hear that you are supporting him :) I can say that support is needed during a time as such. He actually may have to wait until his body builds up antibodies. They test for herpes by detecting the presence of the antibodies and it also depends on the type/name of test. What type of test did he get? All test have a possibility of yielding a false negative, but some more than others. WCSDancer2010 (our wonderful and knowledgeable forum mom) says that is can take up to 4 to 6 months after exposure to get the best testing. Did they swabbed the actual site of blisters? This is another effective way. (Also, it seems like herpes, however, I know that Syphilis, STDs Candidiasis (yeast infection), Impetigo and Eczema (both extremely uncommon), can give the appearance of herpes... He should get test for everything if he haven't already) Also, I know this might be tough on you both, but he will be okay no matter how it goes. I hope you two the best in getting this resolve. Feel free to give updates so that we can pitch in to help further. I hope I was able to give you sufficient information (I am pretty new to the condition myself, but this forum is so informative!)
  13. Well... Although your girlfriend is a virgin, it may be possible that she could have given you oral HSV 1 (or possibly genital since you did mention oral sex) since it is a condition that is mostly picked up during childhood years. She should get tested too. The thing about this is you can rarely be sure where it came from and when it was contracted, therefore you can't pinpoint who may have given it to who.
  14. *so no symptoms and therefore are unaware of the fact they have it. And if it is oral then the same thing stands.
  15. Another test would not hurt. Go for it... maybe wait a bit longer. But many people show no symptoms and a condom is only 50% effective unfortunately... so it can be passed with the use of a condom. I do hope it is negative, but if not the people here will take care of you (:
  16. Unnecessary evil... And that is true. I'm getting there thanks to your forum (:
  17. Really? Soo this is what created the fear and shame surrounding this condition. Great!
  18. Oh, and it's almost everyday. I think I'll go to the doctor for the headache and neck pain. I was thinking maybe I have h2 orally? Although it's rare. :-/ No way for me to find out without an outbreak
  19. hahaha. Yea, this condition isn't cut and dry. Everyone's experiences are different. And good to know you are adjusting! Proud of yah :-)
  20. Hello NapalmHallows. Welcome :-) It is great to hear that you have an open mind and are willing to continue with your new partner. As I am new to H, I can't give you much info off the top of my head, but here is a link that helped me to understand the chances of catching or passing H1 and H2. http://herpesopportunity.com/downloads/herpes-opportunity-disclosure-handout.pdf I'm sure others here can be of more help.
  21. aching pain or heaviness in my back, pelvis and legs... headaches and neck pain especially on the left side.
  22. To clarify *I don't think the breakout in the nose is related to the other condition. @WCSDancer2010 is it possible to have pains on a daily basis but never have an OB? Does that mean shedding is often?
