Surprise herpes! Very confused...

I know that when my immune system is down, I'm more likely to have an outbreak. It likes to wait until my body is fighting other stuff. That could be why yours is just showing up! It can be tricky. Welcome to the forum though, too bad we couldn't meet on different terms :)

Yeah mine didn't come out until I had the flu.. Then I got sick again 3 weeks later and bam another OB.

Just imagine testing positive while never really having any symptoms that are concrete. The little things i think might have been symptoms that I recall from years ago could very well be something else. Just imagine asking for the blood test out of curiosity & getting the results back and being shocked when they tell you it's HSV2. And then furthermore being confused that the men you have had sex with in the last few years go and get tested and they are negative. Just imagine not even knowing when or how you got it. To say the least, I was super stressed about it for a while but now I've accepted it and I am trying to not let this diagnosis change who I am and how I feel about myself. This forum has really helped me. It has taught me to slow down and really get to know someone before taking that step. No one is perfect and everyone has something they wish they could change.

Got that right. As I just posted elsewhere, We are all Human Beings, Being Human. Part of that is fucking things up. What defines is is not necessarily that screwing up (unless we continue to repeat that behavior), its what we do to clean up the mess that says who we REALLY are to our core.
