OK, so here it is. This past summer I dated a guy for almost 3 months; mutual split. When all the started happening, I called him, told him to get tested, and send me copy of results. Well he does, sends me.results. But the problem is it doesn't show his results just an explanation of results. We twil few minutes ago, telling me to send them again. He says he clean. I say OK, but my ex is planning to supenoa and sue him. II'm being nice and telling him. So by giving me/my attorney his results, we can stop that. And thne he doesnt have to go to court, lose, wages, pay legal fees, etc. So this what he says next and couldn't believe my hears. He says: " My labs were less than 0.90. I'm clean. Besides I have never been to a ccountry where Herpes is" OMG, really? Did he really say. I hung up on him because of the utter and complete stupidity that came out of his mouth.

Whatsinthehubbub, Wow ,what a story. Right about one of those that one want to "rake over coals" ...lol. But if u ever read through and learn my story, you would uunderstand. You are very lucky for have a woman like her!!! I envy her ability to forgive and stay. :) I for one, could not, would not. Great story!!!

Tbt, when I took the meds, i got worse as well. i became more irriated, more redness, more swelling, no pain or everything and felt very, very sick; naussua, dizziness, extreme fatigue, feverish, very weak, and "flu like" . I only felt like that when i took the meds!! Hope this helps!!! Aimee

I would suggest blood work. While you wait for yours, just tell him you want him to get tested before y'all become intimate. Tell him you are getting tested. One of two things will happen, 1. He will get agree and go tested and yall can do it together. :) or 2. He will refuse to get tested; in that case, you wouldn't want him anyway.

Ask for HIV as well sweetie, and insist he get tested. HSV and HIV are not standard when tested so you have to for it when go get tested. Good luck!! :) If money is tight, try planned parent hood.

someone_20 You have to tell your boyfriend, hun. If he cares about you it wont matter that you have H. If you can't show you care about him, his well being, and health, how could one expect him to care and respect you back. True healthy relationships are based on honesty and communication. :) I would recommend you have him get tested for all Std's so ; 1. you and him know his status and 2. You can become suspectable to other diseases, virus', etc. Speaking from experience, im here because my ex knew he had both HSV1 & 2 didn't tell me before we were intimate, and knowingly exposing me,put me at risk. Give your sweetie the right to choose.Give him the opportunity to be informed and make an educated decision. Include him in the process. Thats my biggest struggle is my ex maliciously took away my right to choose. You can find many useful tools/info to help you along and many people here at different levels/stages in their journey with H to be helpful. :)

simplyme24, I totally understand your frustration with doctors/nurses. i still dont have clear cut answer for me but here a part of my story you can relate to. Day before Thansgiving, i go to the E.R: with intense lower back and lower left side abominal pain. keep in my im still in the diagnosis phase for hsv, They are getting ready to release me, turns out i had an ovarian on my right ovary that was 7cms. I ask the E.R. doctor to check the system to see if the labs my ob/gyn ordered the week before were in. So comes back and says, "just one; positve for HSV" i break down horribly right there. As My mom walks in, ( keep in my mind if i was H positive, i wasnt going to tell anyone in my family) that stupid, idiotic nurse says to me, " i dont understand what you are upset for, its not like you are dying" I told that nurse she pretty much had less than a second to get out my room before i killed her. Soooo, stupid. My mom is best friends with the head of that hospital. we filed a complaint for violating my HIPA rights and her unbelievable behavior. i got formal appology from that nusre and she was suspended for a month without pay. the ignorance of the medical world. I like ob/gyn but he didnt even now that its a criminal offense in Louisiana & 36 other states to with hold status of having a communicable disease from potiential partners. So i feel you, girlfriend.

newtothis122013 i didnt see where mentioned how long it had been since you had sex. if it was less than 3 months, then its likely too soon to tes. lso, get a copy of all your lab results and look at the numbers. Some doctors say a person is negative the # is close to negative guideline. Ex. on the Igm greater than 1.0 by guidelines is considered positive. some doctors doesnt see it that way. say if ur # was 1.4, some will call that negative and others would say positve. there is really only 1 test for hsv that is considered to be 99.99% accurate. That is the Western Blot. it is not readily done everywhere. you have to research in your area which doctors will order it and labs that run it. i will pray you dont have it. I have had confusing results from 3 different doctors so my next step is to seek out an infectious disease doctor, I nope this helps Aimee

thiscantbelife: i understand the frustration and confusion you feel. i had 1 doctor tell me i dont have it, another doc tell me i was only exposed and doesnt mean i have it and a 3rd doc, tell me i have it for sure, becuase if my blood work and lab work ( even though the lab told this doctor that there was possibily a problem with my lab results). So im not at for sure, i have severe hypoglycemia which has many of the same symptoms. But to be responsible, unselfish, and not malicous, i will live until i have a defenattive decision. the only thing i know of to do is for me 1. go see an endocrynologist to get the hypoglycemia controlled related to PCOS and 2 an infectious disease doctor to determine my actual status since this something they would be well versed on. also woiuld be able to do the Western blot test, which is said to be the most accurate of any available HSV tests. this is the test i would recommend you try to get. do your research on how and where you can get it done in the area where you are from. it is not done all over the U.S. which why I will seek out an infectous disease doctor.

The sad part are there are plenty of women he has done what he does done to me. So many, its scary. Its ignorance of people and blind trust that people like him get away with not disclosing to their potential partners.

Petek, you dont have to have been with many people to get HPV either. It just takes sleepin.with the 1 person that has HPV. My friends daughter is 17. Got hvp from her 1 and only boyfriend and has to have half of her cervix cut out at 17yrs old. Same as HSV, it could be your 1st sexual incounter or your 20th.
