  1. Ahh sweetheart, your story is so similar to mine. I hooked up with a longtime friend right before Thanksgiving, thinking nothing of it, and the condom broke. My initial reaction to the irritation was the same as yours, maybe just rough sex aftermath because I hadn't had any in over 6 months...then I realized it was taking longer to heal and was becoming more and more painful with flu-like symptoms. I googled herpes and felt the horror too. Getting the confirmed diagnosis from examination was an even bigger blow. I couldnt eat or sleep. I felt so disgusted and ashamed. I told my giver and he was in complete denial, still is, and accuses me of giving it to him, even though his test confirmed he had it in his blood before mine did. Needless to say, we don't talk anymore. My primary outbreak lasted about 3 weeks, while he never had one (that I knew of). Fastforward to the present, life is much better and I am no longer ashamed of having it. I came out on social media, and got nothing but support and love. I even had friends and family tell me in confidence about their herpes. I now have a great boyfriend who also has HSV2, and we have a wonderful relationship. The first time we had sex I did have an outbreak shortly after, probably because my body is still adjusting to it all, but it lasted only 2-3 days, tops, and was nowhere near as painful. After a while, you will see that herpes will no longer interfere with your intimacy at all, just make sure you are very well lubricated before you get in the act, and learn what your triggers are. Also, as far as marriage and children go, my cousin who has had herpes for 10 years now, has a beautiful healthy 7 year old son, and still in a relationship with her giver. So, not all hope is lost. You can still have a family and a loving man in your life, H- or H+. Herpes for me has made me more confident in who I am and more appreciative of life. I try to maintain a healthier lifestyle and I make better decisions when it comes to sex and dating. Its given me knowledge to educate others about this disease and decrease the stigma associated with it. You'd be surprised at how many people do not care whether or not you have herpes, because 9xs out of 10, they probably have it too, whether they know it or not. I call it my stress manager and my blessing in disguise, look at it in a positive light and you will see that your life can be just as it was before, if not, better! I have faith in you, stay strong and remember you are NOT herpes! This does not change who you are! People will love you for you and if they define you by your status, then they aren't worth having in your life anyway. :)
  2. I had inflammation of the cervix due to my initial outbreak, and with antivirals it cleared up after about 2 weeks. I worry she may have cervicitis because I remember you mentioning she had green discharge and that's common with an infection of the cervix. With herpes, symptoms eventually clear up, even without meds. Its possible BV caused her cervicitis, because an overgrowth of bacteria can wreak havoc on the internal lady parts. Instead of antibiotics she probably needs an antibacterial prescription. here's a link www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/cervicitis/basics/symptoms/con-20026738 (may need to copy and paste it) Sounds more like what she has than anything. Still, she needs medical treatment to confirm and clear it up. HOPE this helps.
  3. I wonder if I will get new locations... so far with my second outbreak it reactivated in the same area as the first. I'm kind of lucky in a way because its rather small and only in two spots.
  4. Lmao @WCSDancer, and I value your wit and humor @ihaveittoo.
  5. Call Planned Parenthood for an appointment. They always have openings. It does cost for a visit, but its much cheaper than going to the ER. My appointment was $90 total and that was for testing and examination; however, each state prices vary. I'd advise you not to compare her symptoms to others because people here have confirmed herpes diagnosis, as she does not yet. Also, we are not doctors and everyone experiences herpes differently. Though its extremely likely she is infected with H, the only way to know whats causing her problems is to be seen by a medical professional because as I mentioned yesterday, her symptoms may be the result of other issues.
  6. Same boat here hun!! I'm currently doubled up on Valtrex and a fellow friend here told me about coconut oil (all natural, preferably organic but Lou Ana is working for me) on the blisters and it is doing an awesome job. You should try it, hope it gives you some relief. :)
  7. I guess you kind of have to have that mentality in that line of work lol.
  8. That's so awesome @ivory. You all seriously gave me the strength to open up about it to others. I'm so happy to have found this website because I'm sure with my timid personality I probably would've lived in a shell forever and stayed in constant shame and self hate.
  9. It does get better with time. You both have been recently exposed right? Like within the last 6 months to a year or so? Whatever the case, once you have your first official outbreak, more start to follow but they become less severe as antibodies build up to fight the virus. The MAIN thing you should do in the meantime is eat healthier, try to avoid alcohol and junk sugary foods. Take vitamins to boost your immune system, and try meditation or find something that helps relax you when stressed. Taking those steps really does make living with herpes so much easier. Also as @WCSDancer mentioned above in the post, you can still participate in sexual activities. Doesn't always have to be penetration, but rather foreplay, or some other forms of stimulation. I'm in the same boat as you and your wife. My bf and I can't have sex right now until my body gets used to this being in my system. So we will be trying other methods to please eachother. It can be an exciting experience if you let it. :)
  10. I mean worrying about who you know in a clinic would be the least of my concerns if I were in her situation. I can't really say if It's herpes or not being she has a variety of other issues going on...it could be she's having a really bad outbreak because she's left it untreated for some time and they can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to heal depending on the person and the severity, but you won't know until you have official testing. As far as herpes on the cervix there isn't much you can do for that but to just avoid sex, and take meds for pain. @WCSDancer has mentioned there is a flush women can use to clean the inside but I just let time heal my wounds.
  11. No problem. Honestly she needs to be seen soon as possible. Green discharge is not a normal symptom of herpes she could possibly have some other infection going on. Also herpes isn't the only culprit for vaginal blisters although it is the most common reason for them. Sometimes yeast infections and friction or allergic reactions can cause them. My advice to your wife is to better be safe and get checked out than to be sorry in the longrun. Good luck!
  12. I didn't have any kind of odor but there was a color to it and that's what caught me off guard. BV usually has a colorless discharge and a fishy odor, and Trich has a frothy foamy kind of discharge with a strong odor. I went to the Health Department with my initial diagnosis and that's how I found out. They just confirmed it with my GYN.
  13. I'd say I roughly used maybe 5-10ml of tea tree so that's not too much..lol.
  14. @Hbased, I used a Qtip and dipped it into a mixture I poured into a 30ml cup and just applied it to the area. I don't think it really matters how much you use, I've been going to town with this stuff I use it after I use the restroom and after a shower to keep the blisters from crusting up and ulcerating. @WCSDancer, ahhh that's my mistake. We were rather rough this time around, emotions ran high lol. We did initiate foreplay though that definitely helped prevent friction, unlike the night of my exposure. Well, next time we will take it slow and "savor the moment" lol. Thanks for telling me that!
  15. I always wondered about people in the porn industry having herpes because you never see them wearing protection at all. Wow.
  16. Gotta add Billy Idol, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West to the list. She has been seen with active cold sores around the mouth. As well as Rihanna, Chris Brown, and many others. Idk why that gives me so much comfort in seeing people who are considered perfect in the entertainment world to be so imperfect and human just like the rest of us. Lol.
  17. So me doubling up on meds before sex you think may help with the obs? Because I have to admit that was some pretty amazing sexy time and I want more but I'm scared. It's pure torture /facepalm. I noticed since using the Tea Tree and Coconut oil it doesn't even hurt down there at all anymore, which is a huge bonus, and this is without taking Valtrex. I wanted to see if the natural stuff would work before I used meds as a last resort and so far, so good.
  18. Last week when I went to the clinic, I came across a group of people acting nonchalantly about their test results, and making fun of people who may come up positive. I turned around and straight up told them not to make fun, because they could easily be in their shoes, or mine. I told them my story and every one of their mouths dropped. One girl gave me a hug and said "damn, you're a smart and pretty girl, It's a shame he did that to you. that couldn't be me". I told her you have to make the most of what you have in this life time, whether you have a curable disease or not. Soonafter, everyone shared their STD stories, how they got other infections, I can tell it was a weight being lifted that they were able to vent to people without judgement. It was wonderful. They were all pleased to hear I moved on with my life, and found love and happiness, but I can tell it scared em to death because they kept asking me a million questions about herpes and how to know when you have it lol. I'm trying to decrease the stigma any given opportunity I can. People are shocked at how little informed about the illness they truly are.
  19. funny person above used a Robin Williams quote, he also had Herpes. Random fun fact.
  20. I still shave and haven't had any issues, even if I accidentally cut myself. I try not to go completely bald anymore though, and shaving in the direction in which the hair grows helps prevents ingrown hairs.
  21. See my situation is slightly different. My boyfriend takes Valtrex daily because he suffers from multiple outbreaks if he doesn't. We are in a monogamous relationship, and this is my second outbreak since being exposed about 2 months ago (he is not my giver). I feel if I didn't have the combination of triggers that could've had an effect on this ob, I wouldn't be sitting here talking about one so soon. I slipped up, started old harsh eating habits, stressing out, and caught a throat virus on top of it all. Then had sex days after. I should've continued playing it safe. I know I will in the meantime until I get this under control. Throughout this entire time, I wasn't taking any kind of antiviral, and I was doing just fine. So I will stay on top of eating the right things and trying not to let every little thing irritate me like before.
  22. OMG. I'm in love!!! I purchased Lou Ana pure coconut oil and it is working WONDERS!!! It immediately took away the stinging and burning sensation. Wow, this will definitely be my go-to from now on. THANK YOU!!!!
