Last poem ... promise :)

Incessant poetry night ends with this.. hopeful. I am an optimist :)

To New Him

My wish tonight. I imagine our life. Coffee and breakfast on a deck with the ocean behind us. Walks and talks of all topics and scenery. I’m proud to be by your side. Your other, your support. I’m cared for and my feelings prioritized firstly. I manage trials and tribulations knowing that I am caught when I’ve fallen. I imagine careless kisses, long, deep and hard. Soft in feeling but wrought in intensity. There’s a knowing that I’ll always be well. I miss you now. Not knowing who you are or where you are. I am longing. Love. I’ve been away from you for too long.

Heart-wrenching and tender. I have no doubt that with this yearning the right man will feel it and be drawn to you.

This reminds me: Do you know the difference between needing vs. yearning?

Get ready for this one. It's a doozy ... :)

*Needing* a partner is assuming that you somehow need them to fill something in you that's not enough. You need validation, need affection in order to feel whole. You need them, and it hurts to not feel whole and lovable as you are.

*Yearning* for a partner is knowing that you're not only enough and whole as you are, but you have so much love to give that it hurts that you don't have someone to receive it. So you yearn for a relationship where you can give your gift of love fully.

It's the yearning that is powerful because it's coming from a place of self-love, wholeness, heart.

I feel yearning in your poem. And it feels good to hear you longing for such deep love. I have no doubt whatsoever that you will have it when the time is right.
